Our story starts almost 50 years with a dream of an own company. Engineer Olle Nyholm, with extensive experience from manufacturing and product development, had an idea of producing flagpoles using fiberglass reinforced polyester, significantly stronger than traditional wooden flagpoles. Also, maintenance-free. Together with his wife Inga, he laid out the plan and started to build the factory in Värnamo, the heart of entrepreneurial Sweden.
Olov was way ahead of his time from a technical and constructional standpoint, and meticulous in his daily work. His professionalism and great attention to detail inspires us to this day.
In 1995, Peter Nyholm took over Formenta. He lead the global sales expansion and established a sales office in the Netherlands. At this point, Formenta is also taking important structural steps with environmental and quality ISO certifications. A targeted environmentally friendly strategy in all areas of production is outlined.
Today, Formenta is run by the third generation Nyholm. Our goal is to keep developing Formenta as an innovative and expansive company with an appealing assortment of premium products for the public and private outdoors. Apart from flagpoles, our line of products includes lighting columns, bike stands, park furniture, planters, wastebins and sand containers. We pride ourselves with having supplied flagpoles for the Olympic Games, Commonwealth Games, Asian Games, The White House in Washington, the UN at Vienna and several well known buildings and stadiums.
We’re driven by responsibility, pride and a desire for continuous improvement. Same qualities which inspired Olle and Inga to found the company and make solid products to be proud of, lasting for generations.
Formenta is the original trademark of Nyholm Group which holds several brands and companies. Focus is on products and solutions for sustainable, safe, smart public outdoor environments and also products for increased exposure. Our products are distributed to nearly 40 countries.
